Lagoon ~ summer 2009!!

So for summer I wanted to make it memorable especially after being so out of it from being in heart failure mode for so long and not be able to do much with Kenzie before my open heart surgery. I had wanted to take her to disney land but then after going back to my job and being given a schedule that wasn't what I had worked so hard for let alone was at night when all pain set in even later as physical therapy began the job just didn't work out. Soo in between jobs I had to use any money for a vacation or whatever else from taxes toward bills when not working.
Lucky for us a friends mother bought us season passes to lagoon!! It was so awesome and I'm grateful. It made our summer a blast and memories to look back. Something I feel strongly about since quitting life insurance years back let alone having to pretty much restart life after heart surgery, memories are more important than money. So here are pics of us with friends at many different times through out the summer !

The lake '09

We love going to the lake! There have been summers we have gone almost every weekend!
This year we didn't go to much since we had a pool at our apartments (kinda the same as last year) but we did manage to go camping and to the lake a few times too.
This year (2009-2010) I got my fishing license for a whole year and we have gone fishing quite a lot too. Sadly Kenzie hadn't been fishing before so I just had to take her!! In an earlier blog is a pic of Kenzie with the fish she caught the first time out too!! I didn't get pictures of us camping or playing at the lake much but I did get a couple of Kenzie in the water. She was muckying it up !! Gross !! Lol She sure had fun though!

One day while I was watching my friends little girl (smallest one) and spending time with my friend Becki and her son Jayden we all went to the park near where my friend and I had gone to elementary school together. (east layton) We had a blast and got some pictures in too. I didn't however get any pics of Becki. There were a few lil videos but I left them out.

We had lots of fun and we got to take our time unlike when we went with her school on the field trip. We got just a few pictures. The bears were playing it was so cute. The elephant either just had her baby or was just about to. Can you believe elephants are pregnant for two years about? 22 months?!?! YOUCH and I thought 9-10 (9 1/2 really) was a long time!!!

Gone Fishing!! '09

I took Kenzie fishing for the first time this last summer! We left then came back later that same day, Kenzie's 1st day fishing and she caught one! A rainbow trout!! She was so proud of herself. I am too of course! De De held up the already gutted fish since Kenzie didn't wanna hold it after that. haha

Another time fishing we went up with our friends Ninna and kids. I'm sad I can't find a pic of Caitlynn from this day.

On the way up to the lake we ran into a huge herd of cows and smokin hot cowboys!! Lol

We had to pull over to the side of the road and wait til they passed. We didn't mind the view.

(I'm still wearin any leftover makeup from day before. You can see one of the scars from tubes being shoved down me throat from my open heart surgery months before. Luckily it's almost all the way faded now. (people always thought it was hicky, W/E!)

Kenzie absolutely loves horses!! She has been around them since she was a toddler and has always considered herself a cowgirl!! She even has a t-shirt that says, 'Everybody Loves a Cowgirl'. Once we got a picture of her years back wearing that shirt walking around in grandpa's big cowboy boots!! (I'll have to find that picture, so cute!)

Morning Star or Eve, she's a yearling here. She was so excited and wanted out so bad she stepped on my big toe!!! Thank goodness she didn't put all her weight down!! Oh man! (had indent for hour or so from her hoof. Lol

Here at last is Kenzie in the chicken coop. Every time she goes in she has a favorite game hen that seems to love her too. (all the others squak and run/fly away.

There were baby ducks, lil chicks and bunnies too but we didn't get pictures. Maybe this next year.

Renaissance Festival 2009

We went to the Renaissance Festival/Fair in the summer with friends and had a blast! Kenzie got to keep a broken jousting stick that was signed by the knights. She got to ride a pony and we pet cute baby goats. (real kids lol)

Dance and Tumbling (Kenzie)

For all of Kenzie's second grade year and summer before that Kenzie was in Dance and Tumbling and had a blast! With all the sports and activities she did and most of them colliding in the end oh man it got tough and poor Kenzie was probably overwhelmed! So the following year (this year) we decided to not put her in so many activities! She had dance and tumbling right after that, coach pitch softball, soccer and still girl scouts and activity days for church! So we skipped a year of soccer, haven't put her back in dance or tumbling yet and if so she says she wants to try out Cheer leading. (She's also really wanted to do Karate, so one of those.)

Kenzie did awesome at the recital for both tumbling and dance! (Recital was in June 2009)
